European Institutes for Advanced Study

Event date: April 10 - April 13, 2016

Michal Linial (Israel Institute for Advanced Studies)
    Olivier Bouin (NetIAS and EURIAS)

NetIAS was initiated by the Network of European Institutes for Advanced Study (in 2004), bringing together 19 Institutes across Europe. In the network, more than 500 researchers are hosted every year for up to one academic year. The IAS directors and associates will meet in Jerusalem to discuss the IAS practices, possible forms of cooperation and the academic and the public roles of an IAS in general.

During this time we will also be celebrating 5 years of the EURIAS Fellowship Program at the IIAS. EURIAS is an international European mobility program supported by the European Commission since May 2009. It Includes16 institutes of Advanced Study in Europe. It builds on the strong reputation of the Institutes for promoting the focused, self-directed work of excellent researchers. EURIAS offers fellowships for promising scholars at an early stage of their careers as well as established senior researchers for a period of 10-month residencies. The Annual meeting is an opportunity to meet, discuss and build an academic network among the multidisciplinary international group of fellows.

    Welcome to Jerusalem!
