Summer Institute

The IAS Summer Institute is a month-long school designed to conduct intensive study of innovative, pioneering topics. The format is similar to the IAS Advanced Schools, but held over a longer period of time. Organizers select five senior researchers, and up to 20 Ph.D. students or postdoctoral students, from Israel and abroad, to participate in the Summer Institute. Scholars from academic institutions around the world are invited to submit a proposal to the Academic Committee. All disciplines are welcome. Funds are available for travel, accommodations and registration. Subsidies are determined by the organizers of the Summer Institute in coordination with IAS staff.
  • The topic and a detailed statement about the importance of the subject.
  • A detailed plan and timetable for events This includes subtopics and dates for preliminary papers to be assigned to students; the division of work between plenary sessions and subgroups; interim and final reports.
  • A list of senior researchers/lecturers and a statement of their intended contribution.
  • A current curriculum vitae and list of publications for the organizer and five senior researchers.
  • Written, tentative consent for all senior researchers.
