Information for Participants
Participants coming from abroad are strongly advised to carry a copy of the letter of invitation (an e-mail would do), to be presented (if needed) to security people at the airports, BOTH UPON ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE
TRANSPORTATION FROM BEN GURION AIRPORT (IN TEL-AVIV):Ben-Gurion Airport (near Tel Aviv) is located between Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, about a 15-minute ride from Tel-Aviv and 40 minutes to Jerusalem. An effective way to get to Jerusalem is by a shared door-to-door shuttle service, called Nesher Taxi Service. It operates 24 hours a day, and can be easily found on the right as one exits the arrivals terminal. There is a set price of NIS 49 (or $13). Alternatively, one can take a taxi to Jerusalem, immediately to the right of the Nesher station, which would cost about $50. Either way, ask the driver to be dropped off at your designated accommodation
.If you wish to arrive at the Institute first, ask to be dropped off at the pedestrian gate of the Edmond J. Safra Campus, at Givat Ram (of The Hebrew University).
LOCATION OF THE SCHOOL: The School will take place at the Institute for Advanced Studies of The Hebrew University, on the Edmond J. Safra Campus, Givat Ram (The Hebrew University has several campuses). The Institute is the third building (Feldman building) on the right from the main pedestrian gate. This is where the School will be conducted. Lectures will be held in Room 130, on the first floor of the Institute.
YOU MUST SHOW YOUR PASSPORT OR I.D. WHEN ENTERING THE MAIN GATE, AND BAGS WILL BE CHECKED (FOR SECURITY REASONS).
HOTEL ACCOMMODATION:
Speakers are housed at The Renaissance Hotel, Ruppin Bridge at Herzl Blvd., Jerusalem. Tel: 972-2-6599999. The hotel is located near the Givat Ram Campus of The Hebrew University.

REGISTRATION:November 30, from 09:00-09:45, in the lobby, ground floor of the Institute. Lectures will start at 09:45 (in Room 130, on the first floor).
RECEPTION: You are cordially invited to an opening reception, on Sunday, November 30, at 17:30, in the lobby of the IAS. It will include a light supper

COMPUTER CONNECTIONS:A few computer terminals will be available - and a wireless access (WIFI) for enabled machines
WEATHER::AJerusalem is about 800 meters (2640 feet) above sea level, at geographic latitude 31 47' N and longitude 35 13'´E; Temperatures at the end of November/beginning of December range between an average high of 16-18 Centigrade (60-64 Farenheight, and an average low of 6-8 C. (42-46 F.). If unlucky it can be very cold and rainy, so bring a sweater a coat and an umbrella
