Lutz Doering, Professor of New Testament and Ancient Judaism as well as academic head of the Institutum Judaicum (IJD) in the University of Münster, Germany . His research interests focus on the New Testament, Early Christianity, Second Temple Judaism, especially the Dead Sea Scrolls and the Pseudepigrapha, as well as Early Rabbinic Judaism. He has written  Schabbat: Sabbathalacha und -praxis im antiken Judentum und Urchristentum, Tübingen: Mohr Siebeck (1999) and Ancient Jewish Letters and the Beginnings of Christian Epistolography, Tübingen: Mohr Siebeck (2012). Lutz is currently working on a commentary on the Tosefta tractate Shabbat, and is preparing a comprehensive study of Jewish religion in the Graeco-Roman period.
