Omer Bartov

Omer Bartov is the John P. Birkelund Distinguished Professor of European History at Brown University. A member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, he has received fellowships from the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Guggenheim Foundation, as well as Harvard and Princeton Universities, among others. Omer's most recent publications include Erased: Vanishing Traces of Jewish Galicia in Present-Day Ukraine, Princeton University Press (2007), and the co-edited volume Shatterzone of Empires: Coexistence and Violence in the German, Habsburg, Russian, and Ottoman Borderlands, Indiana University Press (2013). His new book, The Voice of Your Brother’s Blood: Buczacz, Biography of a Town, will be published by Simon and Schuster in 2014.
